Singer Brian Evans prevailed against a summary judgment motion recently filed by tobacco conglomerate PT Djarum in Los Angeles Superior Court. As the complaint alleges, Evans sued PT Djarum after a corporate event took place in Indonesia to promote the Grand Indonesia, which PT Djarum owns according to Evans and various articles in The Jakarta Post and other online news websites. The complaint by Evans claims he was not properly compensated in the manner in which had been promised. Evans was hired to provide entertainment at an event held at Hotel Mulia in 2006 in Jakarta.
Marathon Oil Corporation Awarded Third Indonesian Offshore Exploration Block
Marathon Oil Corporation (NYSE: MRO) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiaries, Marathon Indonesia New Ventures Limited and Indonesia Kumawa Energy Limited, entered into a Production Sharing Contract with the Indonesian Government for a combined 49 percent interest in the Kumawa Block offshore Indonesia. Marathon's co-bidder, Komodo Energy LLC, a subsidiary of Black Gold Energy LLC, was awarded the remaining 51 percent interest. Marathon Indonesia New Ventures Limited will serve as the operator.
